The Grudge is coming to DVD and Blu-ray in March 2020

The Grudge made its way to theaters in January hoping to scare all. For those who missed it or waited for the DVD, it’s heading that way in March 2020.

January 2020 saw the release of a number of horror movies that didn’t perform all that well financially or critically. The Grudge was one of those, and it’s not all that surprising that it’s heading to DVD and Blu-ray in March.

Because of it’s early January release date, we did wonder if this would come out early March. It would have made sense if following Venom‘s timeline of releases. However, Sony has opted for a later release date, setting The Grudge on DVD and Blu-ray for Mar. 24, 2020.

You can already pre-order the movie through Amazon, grabbing it with the Price Guarantee. Right now, the movie is available at full price, but I could see the price dropping the closer we get to the release date. Pre-ordering it makes sure you take advantage of the price drop right away.

For those who prefer to own on Digital, there isn’t as long to wait. The Grudge is on Digital on Mar. 10, 2020.

This isn’t a movie for those who love to be scared with horrors. It’s there for those who just want to make sure they add the latest reboot of the Japanese horror to their collections. It’s just not as great as the Sarah Michelle Gellar movie and definitely nothing like the Japanese original.

Critics and audiences both agree that it didn’t perform well. It’s down at 21% from critics and 23% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. You may want to wait for it to come to a streaming service instead.
