Amazon renews Bosch for a seventh and final season

There’s some mixed news for Bosch fans around the world. Amazon has renewed Bosch for Season 7, but it’s going to be the final season.

Amazon has some bittersweet news. Bosch has been renewed for a seventh season, but sadly, it is going to be the last.

Deadline shared the update about the TV crime drama based on the books by Michael Connelly. The sixth season is still to air, but Amazon knows that fans are going to want a final season to wrap up storylines and see the characters out in style.

That’s exactly what Connelly wants, too, While sad that the show is ending, he’s happy that he and the team get to tell one final story to say goodbye to each of the characters. It remains Amazon’s longest-running series to date, and that will likely stand for some time. After all, streaming services don’t tend to get past Season 5 all that much anymore; we’re lucky to get past Season 3 sometimes!

The sixth season, which was confirmed earlier last year, is still to air on Amazon Prime Video. That’s slated for later this year, with the potential of it being in the summer. We can expect Bosch Season 7 to air sometime around fall 2021 if the timeline remains the same. With an early renewal, that is certainly possible.

Connelly shared that he and Eric Overmyer will work together on the series finale. The two wrote the pilot together, so it’s only fitting as a way to say goodbye.

While it is sad that Bosch will end, at least we get a final season. More networks and streaming services are realizing that fans appreciate a final season warning, giving the shows time to wrap up loose storylines so fans get a sense of completeness.
