Troop Zero is one of the latest Amazon movies heading to the streaming service. The first trailer and release date have been released.
While we’re still wrapping up the last month of the year, we’re also looking ahead at the movies and shows to come in 2020. Troop Zero is one of the first Amazon Originals in 2020, and the trailer has officially been released.
Starring Viola Davis, Jim Gaffigan, and MacKenna Grace, this is a movie that is going to capture the heart immediately. It’s a classic underdog story with a Girl Guides focus. When a young girl wants to become a Birdie for the chance to make contact with outer space. Okay, so it’s actually for the chance to be recorded on NASA’s Golden Record, but that’s what allows her to make contact with outer space.
To do that, she needs to enter the national competition. That means getting a troop of Birdie Scouts together. Naturally, there are only the “undesirables” left in the town, and they don’t even necessarily like each other. That’s all going to change, as they band together against the bullies and make it clear that they’re worthy of the prize.
This is going to be one of those heartfelt comedy movies that you just can’t afford to miss. And there’s no need considering it’s going to be on your Prime Video service on Jan. 17, 2020. The movie already holds a 73% score on Rotten Tomatoes from the critics, and there’s more to come from the audience.
Troop Zero’s trailer gives us a hint of what to expect. It doesn’t give too much of the actual movie away, focusing more on the group getting together and how they come up with the name. We get to see the competition they face, and the reasons they’re getting into the competition in the first place. You can certainly tell there’s more to this story as we watch the group of unlikely teammates form a friendship forever.
