Will Graham has joined the Amazon project, Daisy Jones and the Six, as the showrunner. It follows his re-upped first-look deal with the streamer.

Will Graham has re-upped his first-look deal with Amazon. One of his first projects with the new deal is going to be Daisy Jones and the Six. It’s all a-go for the streamer.

Graham got his start with Amazon, creating the first pilot for Amazon Studios, The Onion Presents: The News. It was a co-creation based on productions he did on the Onion News Network. After that, he produced the Salem Rogers pilot and wrote Alpha House. He was then part of Mozart in the Jungle as an executive producer for the third season, according to Deadline.

It’s no wonder Amazon has wanted to keep him on board. And it’s no wonder that he’s now joined Daisy Jones and the Six as the showrunner.

The production, which is from Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine brand, and is based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel of the same name. There will be 12 episodes in this musical drama, which shows the rise and fall of a renowned (and fictional) rock band from the 1970s. Witherspoon and Reid are both on the project as executive producer and producer respectively.

That’s not all Graham will be involved in for Amazon with his re-upped first-look deal. He’s also set to co-write and executive produce A League of Their Own, which is an adaptation of the Penny Marshall movie starring Geena Davis and Tom Hanks. Abbi Jacobson will also executive produce, and is in negotiations to star.

Just recently, TVLine reported that The Good Place‘s D’Arcy Carden is set to star in the 30-minute comedy. It will be a modern take on the story, created for Amazon’s audience.
