Books are on the move on the list of most sold Amazon books last week. There’s a new release on the top spot. Take a look at the full list for Sept. 29.

Where the Crawdads Sing was knocked off the top spot of the most sold Amazon books when Stephen King’s book, The Institute, and Margaret Atwood’s The Testaments moved up. Sept. 29 to Oct. 5 saw a bit of movement, but it wouldn’t mean Delia Owens’ book would go back to the top spot. Which new release has taken over?

It’s all about Ta-Nehisi Coates’ new release this week, titled The Water Dancer. It debuts in the top spot on the list, pushing Kings’ latest book down. However, King doesn’t just drop one spot. The book drops two places, as Where the Crawdads Sing gets back into second place.

What does that mean about Margaret Atwood’s The Testaments? Yes, the sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale did drop three places. Coincidently, The Handmaid’s Tale also lost three places on the list. But they were the biggest movers of the week.

The most notable drop has to go to Melinda Leigh’s Save Your Breath, which lost 13 spots on the list of most sold Amazon books this week. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone also saw a fairly large drop, losing six places and moving into 18th place on the list.

The Water Dancer isn’t the only new book on the list. There are six other books that take up various spots on the list. Lethal Agent by Vince Flynn and Kyle Mills is the second highest new release of the week, landing in fifth place.
