The film adaptation of Donna Tartt’s beloved novel, The Goldfinch, hits theaters this weekend. So, when can you buy the movie on DVD and Blu-ray?

The Goldfinch is finally making its way to the big screen years after the book won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. If you haven’t read Donna Tartt’s novel of the same name, you might consider doing so before or after you see the movie.

I wasn’t a fan of the book, but I’m curious to see how well it will translate to film. Unfortunately, it appears critics aren’t all that impressed with the movie. At present, it holds a reasonably low approval score on Rotten Tomatoes with many criticizing the movie’s dullness. However, if you’re looking into purchasing the movie on DVD and Blu-ray, I’m sure you enjoyed it or have a vested interest in checking it out!

The Goldfinch is a Warner Brothers film. They have a consistent track record for releasing their movies on DVD approximately three months after the theatrical debut. The rule has held true for previous releases like Godzilla: King of Monsters, Shaft, and Annabelle Comes Home.

The Goldfinch, like another Warner Brothers movie currently in theaters IT Chapter Two, should be available on home video in time for Christmas. As for its Amazon Video release, it could be on digital as early as November.

If you’re unfamiliar with Donna Tartt’s book, or just haven’t heard of The Goldfinch before, the story is about the tragic life of Theo Decker. At the age of 13, his mother is killed during a bombing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Theo keeps a painting called The Goldfinch, which he picked up in the aftermath of the blast. He embarks on a long journey to find a real home, always keeping the tiny painting close to him as an anchor to hope.

The film stars Ansel Elgort, Oakes Fegley, Aneurin Barnard, Finn Wolfhard, Sarah Paulson, Luke Wilson, Jeffrey Wright, and Nicole Kidman.
