Victoria Season 3 opens in 1848. A revolution sweeps across Europe, putting the monarchy in Britain in danger. The queen is encouraged to leave London, but you know what she’s like. it’s the last thing she really wants to do.

At the same time, things aren’t all that stable close to home. Victoria and Albert’s marriage continues to struggle, but it’s a lose-lose situation for both. Of course, with six children, it’s never going to be easy, and there are still more children to come.

This is a season with plenty of new faces, including Laurence Fox as Lord Palmerston and Kate Fleetwood as Princess Fedora of Leiningen, the queen’s sister. Lily Travers from Kingsman takes on the role of Duchess of Monmouth and The White Princess‘ Nicholas Audsley plays the Duke. Season 3 sees Prime Minister John Russell step into parliament, replacing Peel, and is played by John Sessions.

Expect plenty of drama and intensity. But make sure you have your tissues at the ready. There are some storylines that won’t end up as happy as you may hope.
