September means it’s the back-to-school season, which is a total bummer. But it also means we’re almost into fall and Halloween! There is no better time to indulge in horror and Amazon is supplying fans with several new selections from recent favorites to old classics.

If you didn’t get the chance to catch Octavia Spencer’s sinister turn in Ma, you’ll be able to rent it this month through Amazon Video! And while you’re watching American Horror Story: 1984, be sure to catch up on last season’s apocalyptic showdown.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse

  • Starring: Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters. Adina Porter, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Cody Fern, Emma Roberts, Cheyenne Jackson, and Kathy Bates

The eighth season of the FX horror anthology series was a crossover between the original Murder House and Coven. A nuclear winter had begun and the characters in this season have to learn how to survive through the destitute conditions.

An organization known as The Cooperative begins selecting special young adults to save, based on their genetic makeup. This wacky season also introduces the Antichrist! As per usual AHS style, there is a lot going on but it’s one of the better received seasons in the last few years and if you’re a fan of the series you’ll enjoy watching it.

AHS: Apocalypse will be available to stream on September 24.

Ma (2019)

  • Directed by: Tate Taylor
  • Starring: Octavia Spencer, Juliette Lewis, Diana Silvers, Corey Fogelmanis, and Luke Evans

But soon she becomes obsessed with the teenagers and slowly their house parties turn into a nightmare.

Ma will be available to rent or purchase through Amazon Video on September 3.

Creepshow (2019)

Shudder, the premiere service for streaming horror content is reviving the beloved film series, Creepshow, into a new anthology series for their platform. The original 1982 horror comedy film was directed by George A. Romero and written by Stephen King. Several of the film’s stories were based on King’s shorts and novellas. King even made his acting debut in the movie!

The 2019 version will be produced by The Walking Dead heavyweight, Greg Nicotero. Each episode will contain two stories and the pilot episode will be based on King’s Survivor Type from one of his 1985 collections. Adrienne Barbeau, Tobin Bell, and Katee Sackhoff are all expected to appear.
