The Wheel of Time: 5 actors have joined Rosamund Pike

Five new cast members have joined Rosamund Pike in Amazon’s adaptation of The Wheel of Time. Here are the full details we know about the stars so far.

Amazon’s The Wheel of Time adaptation has just gained five more stars. They join Rosamund Pike, who will play the lead role of Moiraine. What’s surprising for many is that the new cast members are relatively unknown and in major roles.

It’s certainly refreshing to see Amazon take a chance. Most of the time, there are two or three major names to a series to help draw attention. Good Omens was packed of well-known cast members, while The Boys had a couple of well-known actors such as Antony Starr and Karl Urban.

But The Wheel of Time is doing things completely differently. This is going to be risky, but I think worthwhile. After all, the knowledge of the adaptation will be enough to draw a lot of book fans in.

Madeleine Madden, Marcus Rutherford, Barney Harris, Zoë Robins, and Josha Stradowski are the five joining the series. They’re all taking major roles, and will play Egwene al’Vere, Perrin Aybara, Mat Cauthon, Nynaeve al’Meara, and Rand al’Thor.

Amazon has avoided sharing too much information about the adaptation. While the Robert Jordan books are long and there’s 15 in the series, they’re well worth the read. And you’ve got time to catch up.

For those who want to know a little about The Wheel of Time. Moiraine is a member of Aes Sedai, an all-female organization in a world where magic exists. Only certain women are allowed to access the magic. Moiraine joins five young women and men (the new cast members) on a dangerous journey. One of the group is prophesized to either destroy or save humanity as the Dragon Reborn.
