Rachel Brosnahan and Amazon Studios will continue to work together. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star has inked a first-look deal with Amazon.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star, Rachel Brosnahan, is continuing to work with Amazon Studios after inking a first-look deal. What does this mean for her and the company? It’s time to delve into the details.
Brosnahan, and her Scrap Paper Pictures banner, will work with Amazon Studios to develop shows for Amazon Prime Video, according to Deadline. Amazon gets the first look at anything produced, and that includes first right of refusal. If Amazon chooses not to go ahead, Brosnahan will then have the rights to shop to other networks and streaming services.

This first-look deal has come from the most recent contract renegotiations for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which saw her salary per episode triple to about $300,000. She’s also producing and starring in I’m Your Woman, a feature for Amazon Studios.
With having a first-look deal, there’s a chance that more of her productions will be picked up to series. There’s also more chance to explore different types of content with Amazon Studios compared to some of the primetime network studios for TV. Hopefully, for Amazon, this will also mean the chance to bring more variety of content.
All shows she develops and are picked up will be on Amazon Prime Video. They’re set to be global Prime Originals, meaning they will debut in more than 200 countries and territories.
This doesn’t mean anything for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel just yet. All eyes will be on the third season, which is currently in production, to see if a fourth season is picked up after. With the success at the awards shows and the on-point comedic timing, there’s hope that Amazon Prime continues to see the relevance and need for the story.
