Amazon Studios’ The Report coming to theaters in September 2019
Amazon Studios is pushing for the awards for Adam Driver’s The Report. It gets a September 2019 release date in theaters around the nation.
Amazon made waves at the Sundance Film Festival at the start of the year, acquiring major titles for a substantial amount. The Report was one of those movies and it now has a theatrical release date. Look out for Adam Driver’s movie in September 2019.
The timing is good for the awards season, suggesting that Amazon believes this movie stands a chance of at least nominations. Considering the topic, that’s highly possibly. The Report will be released in theaters on Sept. 27, 2019.

During the TCAs at the start of the year, Amazon Studios head, Jennifer Salke, shared that there would be more movies released with a truncated theatrical release and immediately brought to streaming. We’ll see that with this movie, as it lands on Amazon Prime Video just two weeks after the theatrical release, according to Deadline.

The Report, written and directed by Scott Z. Burns, stars Driver as a man on a mission to find out more about the CIA’s secret torture program. He wants justice and accountability for the program, as well as the right to release the report to the public, believing people deserve to know what is going on.
Good Omens’ Jom Hamm also stars, along with Michael C. Hall, Annette Bening, and Maura Tierney. This investigative thriller will be perfect for those looking for something similar to The Post and other investigative movies based on a true story.
The idea for the theatrical released followed quickly by the streaming release is that The Report will find the best audience possible. It was bought with worldwide rights for streaming, so fans everywhere should be able to watch it by the end of the year.
