At long last (well, it feels like it’s been forever), Humans Season 3 is on Amazon Prime Video. With the arrival this weekend, it’s time to update the list of 50 best TV shows on Amazon Prime Video.

Somehow, this is a show that hadn’t made the list in the past. Well, that mistake has been rectified. There’s no doubt that Humans deserves to be on the list, especially after that twisty and exciting third season.

The British series, which airs on AMC in the United States, picked up a year after the events of the second season. Humans and Synths tensions are at an all-time high, now that humans fear and discriminate against the Synth population. All the Synths want are rights but it’s going to take more than asking to get them.

There are all sorts of ethical questions raised throughout the eight episodes, with a complexity that is hardly ever touched on. You’re left wondering which side you want to be on — and which side you would actually be on if you were thrown into this situation.

So far, a fourth season hasn’t been ordered. However, there’s plenty of room for it and if it does happen, there will likely be another big time jump.

There’s no denying that Humans has always deserved to be on the list. It’s complex and creative. This is a show that isn’t afraid to take risks, leaving you to feel for characters you’d never thought you would before. There’s a human within the drama, the writing and acting are on point, and it’s a show you can binge-watch over and over again.

Humans Season 3 continues to hold a 100% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes. The Audience Score is a strong 76%.
