The Dark Tower series is taking advantage of Game of Thrones coming to an end as it adds Jerome Flynn to the cast.

Amazon is taking a chance on creating an adaptation of The Dark Tower that fans will hopefully enjoy more than the movie, which disappointed many. The series is still in the early stages and has just cast Jerome Flynn. The Game of Thrones cast member is going to be showing off his skills in a different kind of fantasy story.

The Dark Tower will act as more of a prequel story and it’ll likely follow the events of Wizard and Glass. While it’s the fourth book in the long series, it goes back in time to tell it’s part of the story.

As someone who is currently hosting a Stephen King podcast that covers his work in chronological order, maybe I’ll be able to get to the novel before the show actually airs. I’m not set to cover it until 2020, so I’ll have to wait and see when the show will be released.

Jerome Flynn spoke to The Mirror and mentioned that he’ll be playing a cowboy. It’s something that he’s always wanted to so and now he’ll have the chance. Cowboys are normally toting guns, so it’s likely that this version of a cowboy will be one of the Gunslingers.

Amazon is keeping things mostly under wraps for this series, so we don’t have too many details to go on outside of the casting news. A while back, I did speculate a bit on what we should expect from the series and I’m still excited to see how it turns out.
