10 shows in danger of being canceled and 5 shows Amazon should save
In danger: The Passage
Network: FOX
Can you watch on Amazon Prime? Not for free, but you can watch it here.
What it’s about: The Passage is a series based on the trilogy that starts with the book of the same name. When a vampiric virus starts to grow in strength and the government can’t contain it, a team of scientists decides to test it on a young girl to see if she has what it takes to withstand — and hopefully, make a cure. Of course, it’s never as simple as that!

Why it’s in danger: FOX hasn’t had much luck with new shows this season. The Passage was the midseason freshman that was supposed to do well. It was put on a Monday night in 9-1-1‘s timeslot to give it a good chance. However, each week the ratings continually dropped.
It wasn’t renewed ahead of its season finale, suggesting that FOX isn’t going to renew this. It’s going to be a shame, but you’ll certainly want to read the books if this is the case.
Amazon should save: All the Marvel-Netflix shows
Number of seasons: Various numbers depending on the show
When it was canceled: Each show was recently canceled by Netflix. There’s a high chance that it was linked to the upcoming Disney+ streaming service.
What it’s about: I’m including Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and The Punisher on this list. The shows are about various Marvel vigilantes who work on keeping New York City safe from the villains and crooks. Every show has its own lead titular character, but they did all come together in The Defenders.
Why it needs to be saved: Okay, maybe Iron Fist‘s cancellation was just. However, the cancellation of the other shows definitely wasn’t. There is a passionate fanbase for each of the shows, well-written and diverse characters, and some excellent character development throughout. These are shows that people want to see more of — yet it’s the reality shows that seem to survive easily.
It’s extremely unlikely that Amazon Prime Video will save the shows. This isn’t because it doesn’t want to but because it can’t. The shows were likely canceled due to the upcoming Disney+ streaming service and if they’re going to be revived, that’s where they will be. However, we can dream, right?
