Good Omens trailer breakdown: 5 major things to take away from the official trailer
Good Omens has released its first full trailer for the series and it’s time to break it down. What can we take away from it for the Amazon Prime Video series?
Good Omens is heading to Amazon Prime Video in May and there have been some exciting casting updates. As well as David Tennant, we’ve got Benedict Cumberbatch as Satan and Brian Cox is now set to voice Death. Now the Good Omens trailer has been released and it’s time to break it down.
What can we take from the trailer for the upcoming Prime Original? How much does it give away? Here are five major things I’ve picked out from the trailer.
5. The Four Bikers of the Apocalypse are on their way

Move over Horsemen, this is all about the Four Bikers of the Apocalypse. They’re still the same riders you’ve come to know: Famine, Death…etc. but this time they’re on bikes instead of horses. At least their colors haven’t changed.
We get a glimpse of all four Bikers in the trailer: War, Pollution, Famine, and Death. One thing the series is going for is diversity when it comes to these four characters. Well, let’s face it, war, pollution, and all the rest certainly don’t discriminate.
The Originals fans will have noticed Yusuf Gatewood as Famine. Mireille Enos (Hanna) and Lourdes Faberes (Knightfall) will play War and Pollution respectively. Of course, we already know that Cox is the voice of Death, who is the skeleton with cloak that you’ve probably come to expect.
4. The Antichrist is ready
While Crowley and Aziraphale may have lost the Antichrist, he’s not actually gone mission. If you’ve read the novel this mini-series is based on, you’ll know how the Antichrist has gone missing and Crowley isn’t happy. However, what he doesn’t realize is that the son of Lucifer is on his way to the Apocalypse.
He’s bringing a group of friends and a dog along with him. Whether they’re going to help stop the APocalypse or not is another thing. And I want to know what their parents are going to think when all four have wandered off.
Sure, the End of the World isn’t “far,” according to Adam the Antichrist, but just how far is far? Also, will Crowley and Aziraphale find him to prevent this coming war?
3. Some angels and demons want to stop the Apocalypse
If you think that all of Hell and Heaven want to see the Apocalypse happen, you’d be wrong. Crowley decides to turn to Aziraphale for help to stop the impending doom. They don’t want to see it all happen.
Why? Well, if I told you that, it would be spoilery. You could read “Good Omens” to find out why but this could also be something you want to leave as a surprise in the series and then read.
One thing is certain, angels and demons are willing to work together for a common cause. Well, one angel and one demon. It looks like most of the others are on the side of the Apocalypse happening.
2. Battles will be waged
Don’t expect preventing the Apocalypse to be an easy task. Battles will be waged and it’s clear there’s plenty of fire and doom for certain parts of the world — hey, maybe it’s Milton Keynes (again, you’ll understand if you’ve read the book!).
While Aziraphale seems like a bit of a blubbering mess, he’s still a soldier. There’s a part of him that is ready for War and the rest of the Bikers and he’s ready to take them on. The question is whether it’s enough to prevent the Apocalypse.

Meanwhile, Crowley is more than happy to drive around in his Bentley with the fire behind him.
If you thought it was all going to be about the prevention of the Apocalypse, you’d be wrong. There’s a history to Crowley and Aziraphale and that will come up throughout the series. The Good Omens trailer gives a slight hint towards that history, as you see the two of them standing on the top of the Wall, overlooking creation.
1. Gabriel gets a bigger part to play
Something that was mentioned early on in production was that the book would be adapted slightly. Characters that had small roles in the book would have bigger roles in the series, and Gabriel was one that was mentioned.
It’s clear from the Good Omens trailer that Gabriel certainly has a much bigger part to play. He’s going to leave the army for the Apocalypse — making way for Michael to come in to fight against Satan by any chance? — and he’s played by John Hamm.
With a slight change, it means some exciting differences that will leave those who have read the book wondering what’s to come next.
