Brought to us by My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way, The Umbrella Academy is the latest superhero series about to be released to the world. It is all anybody is talking about and one of the questions being raised is whether The Umbrella Academy is on Amazon Prime Video.
Originally a comic book series created by Gerard Way, the TV adaption of The Umbrella Academy is about a dysfunctional family of superheroes. Set in an alternative world where JFK was not assassinated, the series follows the seven surviving children born with superpowers.

Born to a woman who showed no sign of pregnancy prior to giving birth, the children were adopted by eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreaves a.k.a. The Monocle. He raises them in a way that will prepare them for the impending doom.
This doom never comes, however. As the children grow the family turns from unique and fascinating to strange and dysfunctional, they eventually go their own separate ways and only come together when Sir Reginald Hargreaves passes.
With Sir Reginald’s passing suspicious, they decided to work together as one to learn the truth of what happened. A journey that will see them come up against an unlikely foe and the impending doom of the world.
Unfortunately, as amazing as this series sounds, it will not be coming to Amazon Prime Video. With it being billed as a Netflix Original, it will be exclusively available to Netflix only.#

A DVD and Blu-ray may be released eventually, but at the moment it will only be available on Netflix. If there is a DVD release, it will be available on Amazon and we’ll bring the details when we know them.
The only way for The Umbrella Academy to be available on Amazon is for Amazon to gain the rights somehow or for Netflix and Amazon to join together. Neither is likely to happen.
