Game of Thrones really enjoyed dragging this one out. The HBO series has finally confirmed its Season 8 release date. Mark your calender’s everyone.

After a wait that has felt longer than the long night, Game of Thrones Season 8 has finally confirmed its release date. We can now say for a certainty when the final season of one of the best shows in the world will begin.

Game of Thrones made the official announcement yesterday, January 13. An announcement that everyone was told was coming several days before. They also launched a teaser trailer with the announcement as well. One that leaves you asking a lot of questions.

Game of Thrones is scheduled to premiere on April 14, 2019. We all suspected it would arrive around this time, but with many reports citing delays and what not, basically, there was some doubt that needed clearing up.

And the only way to clear up that doubt was by either HBO or Game of Thrones coming out and telling us when Season 8 would premiere, which is what happened yesterday. However, the teaser trailer was not expected. Check it out for yourself below.

If that doesn’t give you chills, I don’t what does. The main thing is it’s official. Game of Thrones Season 8 premieres on April 14, which you can watch via Amazon Channels. What the teaser is teasing, yes that pun was intended, is our next focus now. Is it a big hint that no one will survive? Surely not right?

This is George R.R. Martin, however, and if there is one thing we are all certain of is that nobody is safe. So maybe it is.

Maybe the teaser is telling us that Jon, Sansa, and Arya will all be dead by the time the series ends. The question to ask then however is, who will be left sitting on the Iron Throne?
