Will A Discovery of Witches be on Amazon Prime Video?

A Discovery of Witches is the highly anticipated book adaptation coming this month. Will it be available on Amazon Prime Video?

Fans of “The All Souls Trilogy” by Deborah Harkness have been waiting impatiently to watch A Discovery of Witches in the United States and Canada. That wait is almost finally over. The series will premiere on Jan. 17 on Sundance Now and Shudder. The big question for those without either service is whether they can watch on Amazon Prime Video?

For those who haven’t heard, A Discovery of Witches is a book series about witches, vampires, and demons. The different species are dying out but there may be a key to saving them. Well, that’s what Matthew Clairmont (Downton Abbey‘s Matthew Goode) hopes. When reluctant witch Diana Bishop (Teresa Palmer) manages to recall an ancient book that has been lost for centuries, she finds that all the species are after her.

Throw in a forbidden love story and you have your standard Romeo and Juliet storyline with a twist. Can Diana and Matthew figure out the secrets of the book? Who can Diana really trust?

Now I know you’ll want to watch this British series.

Due to the agreement for the other two streaming services to carry it, Amazon Prime Video won’t get a look in. Even after the season has finished, don’t expect to see A Discovery of Witches become available as part of your Prime membership.

But that’s the Prime membership. What about buying the episodes online?

Again, this is a no. Amazon has made it clear that it’s not allowed to sell the episodes, either as part of a season pass or individually, due to the content providers’ agreements with Amazon. The only way to be able to watch A Discovery of Witches is through Sundance Now or Shudder. The great news is that both are available through Amazon Channels.
