Amazon releases Hanna teaser and a release month for the Prime Original

The first teaser for Prime Original Hanna has officially been released. Amazon is bringing a TV series adaptation of the 2011 movie and even has a release month.

At first glance, Hanna is a sweet movie involving newborns. And then the teaser really gets into action. With blaring alarms and disturbed heart monitors, we realize that the Amazon Prime Original is going to be about a baby snatched from a facility nursery.

That’s all we’re given in the teaser, except that the TV series based on the 2011 thriller will be released in March 2019. There isn’t too long to wait for that, and we should get a full trailer closer to the time.

Those who have seen the movie will know that Hanna is about a young assassin with the titular name. In the series, we get a glimpse of the start, with the baby being snatched before being raised as this woman with extraordinary skills.

Casting for the series was announced back in February 2018, with Esme Creed-Miles announced as the titular role, according to ComingSoon.net. Hanna has been raised in the forests of Poland until she becomes the center of a major conspiracy. As she starts to learn the truth, she has to leave the confines of her home and venture out to learn everything that once happened to her.

Altered Carbon‘s Joel Kinneman will play Erik, the uncompromising soldier who has protected his daughter in the Polish forests all this time. He has to fight against her urge to leave home and learn the truth.

Meanwhile, Mireille Enos will play off-the-book CIA agent Marissa, who has buried the secrets of Hanna for years. When Hanna and Erik re-emerge, Marissa has to face her past and the horrors that come with it.

This Prime Original has been in the works since May 2017 and it is finally coming to the service. It should be released worldwide. An exact release date is still to be confirmed.

The teaser gives absolutely nothing away, except the feeling that it is going to be dark and creepy. Anything involving children tends to send a shiver up my spine, but if you’ve seen the original movie, you’ll likely have an idea of what to expect. Original movie co-writer David Farr has penned the Amazon series.
