Thanks to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, I was able to get an advance copy of the box set to bring you a review of everything to expect and why you need to buy it. And I’ll be completely honest: I’d have bought it if I didn’t get the advance copy because it is certainly worth the money.
About the release
Castle Rock was Hulu’s big horror series. Set in the titular town, in Maine’s deepest woodland where most of Stephen King’s horror novels are set, the psychological horror was a multiverse. It brought the best of both King’s and Abram’s storytelling, intertwining the mythology, the storytelling, and the character development.
Henry Deaver (Andre Holland) returns to Castle Rock after receiving a mysterious call from the one-and-only Shawshank State Penitentiary. As a Death Row attorney, it shouldn’t be surprising to hear that the call is from a nameless young man (Bill Skarsgard), who was found in an underground cage within a long-abandoned cell block underneath the prison.
That’s not the only mysterious part of this psychological horror. Henry goes on a journey to figure out why this young man was imprisoned and left behind. More importantly, he goes on a journey to find out if he should be freed.

Why it’s worth buying
You’re not just getting a DVD or Blu-ray set for the episodes, although that is a major part. Castle Rock: The Complete First Season certainly brings all 10 episodes from the series to life once more in the best quality ever.
Whether you couldn’t watch on Hulu because you didn’t have the service or because you were out of the United States, this is the chance to live the ultimate psychological horror series.
The best part is the bonus features. The Blood on the Page featurette brings you everything you need to know about Stephen King’s writing techniques. You’ll learn more about the work that went into the multiverse, as well as gaining tips for your own writing.
Like the majority of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment box sets, there are hours of entertainment outside of the episodes. You’ve got the chance to delve deep inside the individual episodes to understand more about the production process and the story development.
