Is The Last Kingdom on Amazon Prime Video?
The Last Kingdom Season 3 is now available on Netflix. Will it be available on Amazon Prime Video to accompany the first two seasons?
The Last Kingdom is officially a Netflix Original, but it’s one of those odd Originals like some Prime Originals. In the U.S., it’s been considered a Netflix Original, despite Britain’s BBC having a hand in developing it. The Last Kingdom Season 3 is where things change.
Because of the licensing and initial development, you’ll find the first two seasons of The Last Kingdom available digitally on Amazon Prime Video. You’ll need to pay for it, but you can get the first two seasons in full for less than $30, allowing you to watch through your Prime membership anywhere you want.

The third season has now dropped on Netflix, but things have changed and this likely won’t be on Amazon Prime; at least, not without some sort of extra deal. Netflix now has the exclusive rights to the series and it’s a Netflix Original worldwide.
To be able to watch Uhtred’s continued journey, you’ll need to subscribe to Netflix. This is annoying for those who have bought the digital copy of the last two seasons on Amazon Prime.
The Last Kingdom Season 3 probably won’t be released on DVD and Blu-ray either, unlike the first two seasons. Again, it’s due to the way it’s being distributed this time. However, this will depend on the success of the show and Netflix’s plans.
Unlike Amazon, which doesn’t distribute its Originals via DVD, Netflix has sometimes released its content in DVD form. Maybe The Last Kingdom will be one of those shows. We can hope, right?
For now, you’ll just have to be content with two seasons of Uhtred’s journey on Amazon Prime Video. The Last Kingdom Season 3 is only available on Netflix.
