Who will Marc Rissmann play in The Man in the High Castle Season 4?
Marc Rissmann has landed a recurring role in The Man in the High Castle Season 4. Who exactly will he play and what does it mean for our favorite characters?
The Man in the High Castle Season 4 is currently filming. Every now and then we get some bits and pieces of information. The latest has been casting, as Marc Rissman has landed a recurring role in the alternate history series.
Rissmann, who is best known for Into the Badlands, will play German-born Obergruppenführer Wilhelm Goertzmann. A German native, Rissman is stepping into the show as another competitor against John Smith, who has routinely seen off one enemy after another over the last three seasons.

However, Goertzmann isn’t just going to be an adversary for Smith. This is a man who is after the uppermost level role in the Reich. Yes, he’s a threat to Himmler, the man who has been grooming Smith for the last season and a bit.

That’s all we know about the role so far, but there are a few assumptions we could make. Being a German-born character, Goertzmann possibly resents the attention that the American Smith is gaining from Himmler. He may feel some sort of threat against his own country, the country that managed to win the war.
Just because this is a recurring character doesn’t mean he’ll be dealt with quickly. There have been plenty of shows with recurring characters in for full seasons–and then other shows where series regulars aren’t in every episode. This could be a role that’s boosted to a series regular role in the fifth season (should it happen).
Before getting to see Rissman step into The Man in the High Castle Season 4, he’s going to appear in Paramount’s Overlord and HBO’s Game of Thrones. In the latter, he’ll play Harry Strickland. Fans will have recently seen him in The Last Kingdom, so he certainly has experience in challenging, period roles with plenty of violence and danger.
