NYCC 2018: Alexa Davalos and Chelah Horsdal discuss The Man in the High Castle
During interviews at NYCC 2018, Alexa Davalos and Chelah Horsdal took the time to talk about Juliana Crane and Helen Smith in The Man in the High Castle.
Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle Season 3 is finally here. You’ve possibly already had the chance to see all the episodes. Some of you will still be working through them. And then there are others who have watched them all and are going back through them for other bits and pieces missing on the first watch. NYCC 2018 gave us the chance to talk to Alexa Davalos and Chelah Horsdal about their characters.
The last we saw of Alexa’s Juliana Crane, she’d killed George and was now faced with her sister from another dimension. Alexa chatted about what was going to be in store for the two sisters, as they were “the same but not the same.” Describing it as a dance, Alexa made it clear that there is certainly trust between them but it’s not easy.

Meanwhile, Chelah Horsdal chatted about what’s to come for Helen after the shocking and heartbreaking decision Thomas made at the end of the second season. It was devastating to watch and The Man in the High Castle Season 3 premiere was enough to show exactly what Chelah meant by the strain it puts on Helen and John Smith.

The Smiths were once the power couple. They would stand by each other regardless of other events. No matter what was happening around them, they knew that they had each others’ back and they were doing everything to protect their family. Now it’s all changed. What they’ve fought to do has ripped apart their family.
This is an interview that you want to watch to the end. Chelah shared a few surprising comments about what people (men in particular) connect with the most in the series about Helen Smith. It’s not good!
While this is mostly focused on The Man in the High Castle Season 3, there are some hints of things to come in Season 4–or more of what could come in the fourth season. Don’t expect the same or what everyone knows now to be the outcome of the next season.
