Will Amazon renew Forever for Season 2?

Now that Forever Season 1 is finished, the eyes are on renewal or cancellation news. Will Amazon pick up Forever Season 2?

I may still be unsure of what I watched, but there was something alluring about Forever. The more I think of it, the more I enjoyed it. And, as I said in my Forever review, I would be completely up for a second season. Now the question is whether Amazon will grant it.

Unlike the primetime networks, it’s much harder to tell if Amazon is going to renew or cancel a show. We don’t get to see the live viewing figures. All we can judge is what people are saying about the show and whether it sounds good enough for a renewal.

Like Netflix, Amazon will look at the number of people who watched the first episodes and then the amount that stayed with the show until the end. Is there enough interest to warrant a second season?

Judging from what people are saying online, I’d say the show should be picked up. To start with, Amazon already has it listed as “Season 1,” hinting that there is more to come. But the view online is overwhelmingly positive.

This may not be a show that it originally seemed like–and that’s why I’m still a little unsure about it–but it has so many positive messages. There’s the twist on a man in his 40s explaining something about the modern age to a teenager (and you’ll need to watch to understand that) and there’s a beautiful message of not missing your chances or living a life of regrets.

There’s something overwhelmingly different about this series in an epic way. The show wasn’t made just for laughs. It doesn’t have a controversial plot line or trailer just to get you to tune in. And, most importantly, it showcases Maya Rudolph in a role that it’s about damn time she got.

Hopefully, the positive responses on social media mimic the viewer ratings on Amazon Prime because this is a show that needs a second season. The showrunners are up for it, so can we see Forever Season 2 happen?
