The Romanoffs available in October: New trailer shows the anthology setup
The Romanoffs is one of the newest Prime Originals heading to Amazon Prime Video in October. The trailer released earlier this month shows the anthology setup.
After the second teaser for The Romanoffs, I thought I was going to hate hearing the name. The trailer released earlier this month isn’t as bad and sets up the anthology series that will be available on Amazon Prime Video in October.
One of the newest Prime Originals tells eight different stories and will debut on Oct. 12, 2018. Spreading three continents and potentially one bloodline, the eight episodes will go into the lives of eight different individuals. All have one thing in common: their connection to the murdered Russian royal family, the Romanovs.

Created by the minds behind Mad Men, the series will roll out differently to other Prime Originals. Instead of all dropping at the same time, the episodes will come out one new episode a week. It’s going to be more like an episode of Mad Men than The Man in the High Castle.
Every episode has a completely different cast. This suggests that they’re not going to meet each other throughout the series. Maybe that will be left for the final moments or go into a second season if it’s ordered.

The unusual spelling of the name has been addressed. The Romanoffs is based on the pronunciation of the name and how the name was previously spelled (due to the pronunciation). The series itself is based on all the conspiracy theories out there from the murder of the Romanov family, with many believing that young Anastasia had managed to escape the slaughter.
The trailer released a little less than a month before The Romanoffs debut shows what you can expect from the anthology setup. You’ll be introduced to each of the characters and their stories. Don’t worry; you don’t hear the name quite as much as you did in the teaser.
There’s not too long to wait for the series now.
