Good Omens is one of the Amazon Prime Originals heading to New York Comic-Con 2018. Just what is the new series and what can we expect?

Good Omens is one of four Amazon Prime Originals heading to New York Comic-Con 2018. It’s also one of two new Prime Originals hitting the stage, with The Boys as the other. Not heard of the new series just yet? Don’t worry; here are all the details you need.

For those who think they may recognize it, it’s possibly due to knowing the book the series is based on. Yes, this is another book adaptation, with one of the authors as a showrunner. The book is titled “Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch.” It was written by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.

Gaiman will be at NYCC with the cast of the new series and wrote the screenplay for the series. Starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen, the series tells the story of the coming of the Antichrist and the apocalypse between Heaven and Hell. Tennant plays the demon Crowley, who has to work with Sheen’s angel, Aziraphale, to prevent the impending apocalypse.

Expect to see the likes of Beelzebub, played by Anna Maxwell Martin, who gets a much larger role in the series and Gabriel, played by Jon Hamm, again, who will get a much larger role in the series. There are some changes to the original story, with Gabriel being the leader of Heaven’s forces instead of Metatron.

The only character still to be confirmed is Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. As a Supernatural fan, could I recommend Julian Richings for the role?

As you would expect from the novel title, this is more than just angels and demons. There are humans, witches, witch hunters, and much more. NYCC will be a chance to learn more about the six-episode adaptation, which is set to be released on Amazon Prime worldwide in 2019.
