Will Jack Ryan Season 3 happen on Amazon Prime?

Jack Ryan has only just finished it its first season but has already been renewed for a second. Now fans want to know if there’ll be a Jack Ryan Season 3.

Can you believe we’re already looking at whether Amazon will confirm Jack Ryan Season 3? The first season only dropped last month.

Wait, why Season 3? Well, the show has already been renewed for a second season. While there’s no confirmed release date, I expect it to be out around August next year. Considering filming has been going on for the last two months, it’s certainly plausible.

Amazon is yet to confirm whether Jack Ryan Season 3 will go ahead. However, the company does have a habit of quietly renewing and then confirming months ahead of the next season premiere. For example, The Man in the High Castle Season 4 was confirmed in July 2018, despite the third season not premiering until Oct. 5, 2018! Transparent received season renewals ahead of each premiere.

Why does Amazon do this? The company is able to look at the hype and make an educated guess on whether the show will be a success. Amazon used to allow customers to vote for the pilots they’d like to see turned into shows. That only stopped in July, according to The Verge. However, Amazon still uses some customer data to determine which shows could do well.

This is great news for fans of shows. There’s a little more warning on whether a show is likely to be canceled. We don’t go through a season worrying about a cliffhanger that may not be resolved.

So, Jack Ryan Season 3 will possibly be confirmed (if it’s happening) sometime next year. Season 2 was confirmed in April 2018, so we could see a third season renewal in April 2019.

The good news is that the second season is self-contained in the same way the first season was. While the concept will be different and there’s more focus on the government, there will still be a story resolution at the end.
