Why wasn’t Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime Canada last night?

Amazon Prime Canada gets access to Thursday Night Football. However, it wasn’t on last night. Why not?

Thursday Night Football is coming back to Amazon Prime Canada this year. It makes sense considering the success that it was last season. It certainly makes Canadian Prime membership worthwhile for fans of the game.

However, many possibly tuned in last night to watch the first week of the games. The Philadelphia Eagles played the Atlanta Falcons, but the game was nowhere to be found on the streaming service? How could that be?

More from TV on Amazon

Well, Amazon doesn’t have rights for the first three weeks of Thursday Night Football. They stream on the NFL website or you can view on the TV. It’s annoying and it sucks, but it’s just the way it is.

The first game you can watch through Amazon Prime Canada is in Week 4, so we’re looking at Sept. 27’s game. The Minnesota Vikings play the Los Angeles Rams at the Rams’ home. Kick-off is at 8 p.m. and the whole game will be available through your Prime Canada membership.

Don’t have Prime yet? The game could be the perfect time to get it. You can get a 30-day free trial (except in Quebec), which means you’ll get four games to see if Thursday Night Football is going to be worth it. In Quebec, you’re paying for 12 months but you get 13 months, so you sort of get a deal.

If you really want to see the Super Bowl champions, the Eagles, play, you don’t have to miss out too much. Week 6 (so the third week of streaming on Amazon) will see the Eagles lay the Giants in New York. Check out the full Amazon Prime Canada schedule here.
