When will Jack Ryan Season 2 be on Amazon Prime Video?
Jack Ryan Season 2 is officially happening. Now that many have completely binged the first season, when will the second season be released?
Jack Ryan Season 2 was confirmed before the first season even hit the airwaves. Amazon had so much faith in the show based on the initial hype that it allowed the cast and crew to get on with their work early. Now people want to know when Jack Ryan Season 2 will be on Amazon Prime Video.
There isn’t an exact date yet, but there is a date we can assume. Because the show is already in the middle of filming, it’s highly likely that the second season will be complete for an August 2019 release date.
The writer’s room for the second season opened on Oct. 4, 2017, according to a Deadline interview with showrunner Carlton Cuse. Filming has already been on the go for two months and they’re in Columbia for filming this season, according to John Hoogenakker, who plays Matice on the series.

So far, we know that Hoogenakker will be back and has been promoted to series regular for Jack Ryan Season 2. John Krasinski, Wendell Pierce, and Abbie Cornish will also return as Jack Ryan, James Greer, and Cathy Mueller respectively.

Noomi Rapace, Michael Kelly, Jovan Adepo, Jordi Molla, Cristina Umaña, and Francisco Denis will also star in the second season. They will play a range from roles, including German intelligence agents, CIA agents, and even a South American country leader. The second season is going to be more political than the first.
Cuse shared with Digital Spy that John Clark, one of the other protagonists in the Tom Clancy books, won’t appear in the series. He has his separate storylines and this isn’t about him; it’s all about Jack.
If you liked the self-contained storyline of the first season, you’ll be happy about Jack Ryan Season 2. Of course, there will be elements left open for the hope of a third season, but it’s not going to have a major cliffhanger that leaves you hanging on and disappointed if the show doesn’t get renewed.
The August premiere date for Jack Ryan Season 2 certainly makes a lot of sense. This gives the cast and crew time to finish filming and the post-production steps. All episodes need to be ready to drop at the same time. If everything is ready earlier, Amazon may choose to release early, but why switch up a good thing?
