Up until now, only the commercial-free plan for CBS All Access has been available at Amazon Channels. That’s changing now.

Amazon Channels offers Prime customers the chance to snag various cable networks for an extra monthly price. CBS All Access was one of the latest services added at the start of this year, offering a range of CBS programming material live and on demand. However, many fans were disappointed to find out that only the commercial free option was available, priced at $9.99 per month.

That’s about to change. CBS promised the arrival of its commercial light option, which is cheaper at $5.99. The network is living up to that promise, offering a service through Amazon Prime for those who are on a tight budget. The cheaper service is called the Limited Commercials plan, according to TechCrunch.

The lower-priced plan is available direct at CBS All Access already and is a popular option for those on a budget. It’s a little like watching normal TV, just with fewer commercials than standard. After all, you are paying for the service!

All the content will be exactly the same otherwise. You’ll get access to all the CBS All Access exclusive content, such as Star Trek: Discovery, and you’ll also gain access to the on-demand and live shows, including the Murphy Brown revival and Magnum P.I. reboot. Nothing else will change.

Offering an ad service within streaming is becoming normal. Hulu has offer ads for a while and now Netflix is looking at adding ads for its basic subscription service. These are usually trailers for other shows that are on the network.

What’s the point in getting your CBS All Access through Amazon Channels when you can get it direct? Well, you get absolutely everything in the one place through Amazon Channels. You’re paying one amount each month, too, making it easier for budgeting. Now you’ll get access to the cheapest option at CBS if you want!
