When is the release date for The Big Sick on Amazon Prime Video? We picked five movies to watch on Prime Video while you wait to watch The Big Sick.

The Big Sick is one of the best and most popular movies in theaters right now, and we have some great news about the film. The Big Sick is coming to Amazon Prime Video some time soon.

The film is produced by Amazon Studios and Lionsgate, and because it’s produced by Amazon Studios, the film will be streaming on Prime Video in the future. When will that be exactly? Well, Amazon gives the movies the produce at least a 90-day theatrical run.

The Big Sick premiered in theaters on June 23, 2017. That means the film will not be available to stream on Prime Video until September 21. That’s not too long of a wait, but it’s possible it could be a longer wait than that.

This theatrical-run window has been extended for movies like Manchester By The Sea and a few other successful Amazon films. The Big Sick should definitely be included in that successful movie category, so it’s possible Amazon will hold off adding the film for another 90 days or so.

At the time of publishing, we are looking at

The Big Sick

being added to Netflix between September and the end of November. Unfortunately, that’s the best projection we can make at this point.

For those who have not seen the film yet, we highly recommend it! Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon, a married couple, wrote the screenplay for the film based on their story and experiences. Judd Apatow produced the film, and Michael Showalter, best known for writing and starring in Wet Hot American Summer, directed the movie.

Nanjiani stars in the film along with Ray Romano, Zoe Kazan, Holly Hunter, Adeel Akhtar, and Anupam Kher.
