Transparent Season 3 Review: As good as ever
By Bryce Olin
Our spoiler-free Transparent Season 3 Review. The new season is as good as the first two and probably better! Transparent Season 3 premiered on Amazon Prime Video on September 23.
Transparent Season 3 hit Amazon Prime Video last Friday. After binge-watching the series over the weekend, we wanted to share our thoughts on the new season of Amazon’s best original series.
The new season of Transparent is, without a doubt, the best season of the series so far. If you have not seen it, you have to check it out as soon as possible. Somehow, the series keeps getting better and better with every season.
While the first and second season were great in their own right, the third season trimmed the fluff around the edges. There’s no messing around or loitering in the Pfefferman’s lives during this season. It’s all story all the time, and that story is continually propelled forward.
Transparent, creator Jill Soloway, and the show’s creative team have hit the sweet spot of this series. Each main character is on their own path toward finding whatever it is they are going to find in this series. That unpredictability makes the show irresistible and addicting. I couldn’t stop watching this season! Generally, I space out the episodes over a few days to take all of them in, but I had to keep binge-watching Transparent Season 3. It’s that good!
At some point, some of these stories must reach their conclusion and spin into a different direction. That likely won’t be for a while though. Transparent has been renewed for a fourth season, so get ready for another dose of the Pfefferman and their friends within the next year!

Overall, Transparent Season 3 is the best complete season we’ve seen on TV recently. If you choose not to watch it or can’t find the time, you are missing out!
Grade: A
I don’t know how this series could be any better than it is. The acting performances, while exceptional every season, are even better in the third season, especially Kathryn Hahn as Rabbi Raquel, who gets a good chunk of screen time in the season. And, obviously, Jeffrey Tambor continues to impress as Maura Pfefferman.
