Out of all the Prime Originals on Amazon Prime Video, Hanna is one of those that stands out. It’s a series that focuses on the strengths of a young girl – who is perceived as weak because of her size and her gender. This perception is something that she can use as a strength to defeat her enemies.

Set in Norway, Hanna is 16 and has never seen the outside world. Raised by only her father, she has learned all about survival, believing that she needs to remain in the wilderness to remain safe from the woman who killed her mother and is after her and her father.

Things come to a head when she meets a young boy and decides to explore the world a little. When her father is just about to be captured, she decides to turn herself in. That starts a journey of discovery, as she learns what it’s like to be a “normal girl.” However, can she also protect herself from the conspiracy around and search for her father?

Based on the movie of the same name and created by one of the movie’s co-writers, Hanna has more time to delve into the world a little more. There’s a chance to explore who Hanna is and finally see her as a young girl and not some extraordinary being.
