No, The Terminal List Season 2 probably won't arrive in 2024
It took a long time for Amazon to renew The Terminal List for Season 2. It led to concerns that the series was quietly canceled.
Now we’ve gone a long time without hearing anything about the show. The only thing we know right now is that the season is still officially happening. It doesn’t sound like we’ll get it in 2024, though.
There may have been an initial plan to get the season to us this year. However, it looks like some 2024 releases are being pushed to 2025. This could be one of them.
Why isn’t The Terminal List Season 2 coming in 2024?
Amazon hasn’t confirmed a lot of plans for this year just yet. However, there were a couple of releases that were set for this year that were canceled during the strike action. Amazon already had a plan for 2025, and The Peripheral and A League of Their Own didn’t work for that.
It’s rather telling that The Terminal List is still going. This series was a big release back in July 2022, although it doesn’t seem to be on the scale of Jack Ryan and Reacher. That being said, it looks big enough that Amazon was still happy to renew it months after it aired.
Christ Pratt is a busy man, though. The show needs him, and that means everyone needs to work with his schedule. He was busy with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 last year, and then the strike action happened. This is likely where more of the delay is coming. While it was likely planned for the 2024 schedule, Amazon is likely happy with the performance enough to keep it for the early 2025 schedule.
Of course, there is still time to get it out in 2024. We could see it toward the end of the year. However, there has to be a reason Mr. and Mrs. Smith was pushed from late 2023 to early 2024. It would suggest Amazon wants at least one big action series to hit next year.
The Terminal List is available to stream on Prime Video.
