Harold and the Purple Crayon lands a DVD date (and you can pre-order)

When the kids go to the movies, you know they will end up wanting to watch the movie again. As parents, we can’t wait until the movies come to DVD and Digital. There’s some great news about Harold and the Purple Crayon as the DVD release date has now been set.

Harold and the Purple Crayon is a fun, fantastical story. In a book, Harold is able to draw anything with his purple crayon and it comes to life. Well, that happens when he finds himself out of the book and in real life. However, he ends up being tricked by an evil entity to give over his powerful tool, and now he needs to get it back to save both his world and the real world.

Harold and the Purple Crayon will come to DVD and Blu-ray on Tuesday, Oct. 8. This is much earlier than we initially thought that it would come out. Due to the way other Sony releases came out, especially those for kids, we expected to see this release in November! It’s great news for families.

When is Harold and the Purple Crayon on Digital?

What if you can’t wait for the DVD release date? While it may be in a month, you may want to get the movie right now for the kids. There is some great news for all. The release was on Tuesday, Aug. 27, so you can already rent or buy the movie.

Just keep in mind that the Blu-ray release is a combo pack. You’ll get a code for the digital copy as well, so it could be worth waiting for the physical release.
