Harold and the Purple Crayon won't go to Prime Video first, but it will be on Amazon
Harold and the Purple Crayon is a great movie for the whole family. While you’ll want to watch it in theaters first, the kids are sure to want to rewatch it at home. That means knowing where it will stream online.
Harold is able to make anything come to life in the pages of his own book. What happens when he grows up and draws himself off the pages of his book? Suddenly, he finds himself in the physical world with just his trusty crayon and a moose to help him.
He’s easily tricked into handing over his powerful crayon. With the crayon in the wrong hands, Harold will have to harness his own creativity to save both worlds in the story.
Harold and the Purple Crayon will not head to Prime Video first
The new family movie is not going to head to Prime Video at first. Harold and the Purple Crayon is a Sony Pictures movie, which means that it is heading to Netflix as its first streaming home. This is because Sony and Netflix have a deal right now.
It doesn’t mean that Amazon can’t ever bring it to its streaming platform. It just won’t happen for a few years at least, and then it will depend on licensing deals.
You will be able to watch Harold and the Purple Crayon via Amazon
There will be a way to watch the movie via Amazon, though. It’s going to be all about Amazon Instant Video, which is where you can buy or rent movies. There’s no need to have a streaming service to watch when you head over to Amazon Instant Video. When you buy the movie, you get to keep it.
As Harold and the Purple Crayon is a Sony movie, we’re looking at it heading to Digital within the next six weeks or so. This will mean that we should be able to watch it by the middle of September.
