There is no doubt that we’re ready for The Wheel of Time Season 2, but there’s still a bit of a wait on our hands. Here’s what we know so far.

One thing that we didn’t expect to see on the list of July releases on Prime Video was The Wheel of Time Season 2. That didn’t stop us from double-checking the list just in case, but there would have been a lot of noise had this show been arriving this month.

Good Omens is dropping its second season in July. Of course, Amazon won’t want to bring two fantasy shows out at the same time, so there was always going to be a wait for The Wheel of Time. The good news is there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We know when the season will premiere.

When will The Wheel of Time Season 2 come to Prime Video?

The second season is set to premiere on Friday, Sept. 1. The story will follow book storylines from the second and third books. Fans who love the show-inspired book covers will be happy to know that they can get a version of The Great Hunt with Rand al’Thor and Moiraine. Despite the two characters on different journeys, they are both important so it makes sense to include them both on the new cover.

This season will see Dónal Finn take over the role of Mat. It’s still not clear why Barney Harris is no longer in the role, and it will be interesting to see why there’s a change to Mat’s face in the story. Will it be explained, or is it just something that will be ignored like many other shows have done?

There are some images from the second season out now. Our sister site Winter Is Coming shared them with some explanations of who some of the new characters are.
