The Wheel of Time Season 2 is not coming to Prime Video in June 2023
As much as we would love to see The Wheel of Time Season 2, it’s not arriving just yet. The good news is there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
While we would love to see the next part of the story, we knew that there was little chance The Wheel of Time Season 2 would arrive on Prime Video just yet. If it was coming in June, we’d already have a trailer for it. That didn’t stop us from checking the list just in case.
We know that the second season is happening. We also know that the third season is happening. So, what’s with the delay, and how long will it be? Well, there has been some good news lately.
When will The Wheel of Time Season 2 premiere on Prime Video?
Amazon has finally confirmed a premiere date. We’ll get to see The Wheel of Time Season 2 premiere on Friday, Sept. 1. It looks like Amazon is trying to take advantage of a quiet fall for broadcast networks. There will likely not be any scripted shows for the broadcast networks so the streamers can benefit. Of course, the opposite will happen soon if the writers strike keeps going.
TVLine didn’t say anything about a weekly release, but that’s what we are expecting. Amazon is likely to follow the same format as last time, with the first three episodes coming out at once and then the remaining episodes airing weekly. This has been an excellent way to keep engagement for other big shows, so why change it for this one?
The weekly release is also going to help with spacing out content when it comes to the writers strike. Amazon is going to eventually run out of banked content if the writers strike keeps up. While The Lord of the Rings Season 2 is still in production, a lot of other shows will be forced to shut down. Even The Lord of the Rings could be forced to shut down if SAG goes on strike.
