How many episodes will there be in The Wheel of Time Season 2?

We’re ready to head back into the epic world created by Robert Jordan. How many episodes will we get in The Wheel of Time Season 2?

Back in May 2021, well before the series premiere, we found out The Wheel of Time Season 2 would happen. Filming picked up right off the back of the first season, although it took until May 2022 to complete. Now all our eyes are on when the new season will drop on Prime Video.

We don’t yet have a premiere date. It’s hard to make a call on that just yet, but we are expecting it to drop as a hybrid release. The first season dropped the first three episodes first and then one weekend per week. This is what we expect for the second season, so there’s no doubt you’ll want to know how long it would take to get to the season finale.

To know this, we need to know the episode count. Just how many episodes will be in The Wheel of Time Season 2?

When the second season was announced, we found out the episode count. There are going to be eight episodes in The Wheel of Time Season 2, matching the episode count for the first season. This makes sense. Prime Video tends to opt for eight episodes for TV shows now. Just look at The Boys, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Night Sky.

There is an argument that a series like this would need more episodes to tell the full story. At the same time, shorter seasons allow the story to remain focused on the main points. There isn’t the need for filler content to spread out to 20 to 24 episodes.

We’d likely see a release like the first season. That would mean three episodes at once and then the remaining five episodes released weekly.
