The Wheel of Time hasn’t even premiered on Amazon yet, and the streamer already has high hopes. Season 2 is confirmed ahead of the show’s debut.
Deadline shared the exciting news of the renewal, with confirmation that production on the first season is complete. Amazon has big hopes for this series, which isn’t all too surprising. After all, it was immediately met with cheers and anticipation, and every single piece of promotion has been out of this world.
The series’s production was hit by the pandemic, meaning that there were some delays in 2020. However, the cast and crew have managed to get to business, and there’s a glimmer of hope that we’ll see the show premiere in 2021. If not this year, it’s going to likely arrive early 2022.
The great thing about the early renewal is that production can get started right away. This will help to keep the wait for The Wheel of Time Season 2 to a minimum.
The Wheel of Time Season 2 renewal is welcome news
We certainly love hearing that the renewal has happened. To be honest, it’s not totally surprising. When Amazon feels like it has a good show in the works, early renewals happen.
The Boys Season 2 and Carnival Row Season 2 were both confirmed ahead of their respective debuts. Amazon continued that support for The Boys with a Season 3 renewal ahead of the Season 2 debut.
Back in November 2019, Lord of the Rings landed a second season. It’s another series we’re still waiting for, partly due to the pandemic putting things on hold.
The Wheel of Time Season 2 will expand the world already built in the first season. And it’s not like we have to worry about source material. There is plenty available to work with.
Of course, we’ll have to wait for the series to get an idea of how true it will stay to the books, but there is a lot of excitement around this show.
