The Lord of the Rings is not coming to Amazon in November 2021

It’s another month of new releases, and there are still Amazon shows that we’re eagerly waiting for. The Lord of the Rings is one of those shows.

We didn’t expect The Lord of the Rings to be on the list of November releases on Amazon Prime Video. That didn’t stop us from double-checking the list. You never know; a streamer may surprise us.

However, we know that we’re not expecting the fantasy series until next year. In fact, we know that it’s coming in September 2022. That doesn’t stop us from hoping that Amazon and the series could find they don’t need that much time after all, and that they can bring it to us sooner.

The show is set to get a weekly release, similar to The Boys, The Expanse, and the upcoming The Wheel of Time series. That’s not surprising. Binge-watching shows isn’t good for us, and it also isn’t good for the shows themselves. The hard work isn’t appreciated as much as it is when shows are released weekly, and this series is going to be massive.

The Lord of the Rings Season 1 synopsis

The Lord of the Rings Season 1 is tied into the world of the books and movies, but it’s not a reboot of the story. Instead, it’s a prequel story, set during the Second Age of Middle Earth’s history.

This is a time when great powers were forged in the kingdoms. It’s a time when heroes were fully tested and hope was just a simmer of light. The series will start in a time of relative peace, but it will head into the re-emergence of a long-feard evil. Our heroes are carving out a history that will be around for centuries.

We don’t know a lot about the series, though. Amazon is being extremely hush-hush. Since it’s not arriving until 2022, that’s not too surprising. Amazon won’t want to give too much away and the title of the show is enough to draw plenty of people in.
