The Wheel of Time Season 2 has started filming

We’re still waiting a series release date, but there’s some good news about The Wheel of Time Season 2. Filming has started in Prague.

One thing we do know is that The Wheel of Time Season 1 is coming sometime in 2021. We’re expecting it toward the end of the year due to the amount of post-production work it will likely need.

However, we do get great news about The Wheel of Time Season 2. We found out earlier this year that Season 2 was officially happening despite the first season not even being available on Amazon Prime Video yet. Now we’ve found out that filming as started.

The show released the news on social media, and showrunner Rafe Judkins confirmed that filming is happening in Prague. So exciting!

He also confirmed that we’d get a trailer for the first season soon. This should include a release date at the same time. Maybe fall is possible instead of having to wait until winter.

When will The Wheel of Time Season 2 come out?

With filming already starting, there’s some great news for the release. It’s highly likely that we’ll get the second season sometime in 2022.

This was likely Amazon’s plan. The delay for the first season was linked to the pandemic. Filming had to be put on hold temporarily while everyone figured out what they were doing. With the hype already around the series, it made sense for Amazon to take a risk and renew it for a second season.

It’s done something similar for The Lord of the Rings series. The idea is that filming can happen almost right off the bat from Season 1 finishing, helping to reduce the wait between the seasons.
