Invincible is one of the new Amazon Originals arriving in March 2021. Here’s everything we know about the release date, cast, trailer, and much more.

This is one of the Amazon shows that viewers have been most excited about this year. Part of that is knowing that we’re definitely getting it in 2021, but another part of it is that we’re just ready for this animated series.

Two years ago we found out about the project, with Robert Kirkman attached as one of his first projects since signing an overall deal with Amazon. Then Steven Yuen was attached to voice the lead character, while also signing an overall deal with Amazon. Can Amazon replicate the success of The Walking Dead with the animated series Invincible?

It’s certainly worth a try, and there isn’t long left to wait. Here’s what we know about the release date, cast, and much more.

Invincible release date

We start with the release date, which we know. The eight episodes will drop at once on Friday, March 26.

Each of the episodes is about an hour long. You’ll want to binge-watch it throughout the first weekend it drops to make it clear we need a second season.

Invincible cast

This is an animated series with an outstanding cast. Yuen voices the lead character, Mark Grayson, but there are so many other high-profile names attached. You’ll want to check out the trailer to see all the names, but here are some of the biggest:

Invincible trailer

Back in 2020, Amazon got us ready for the animated series with a teaser trailer. It certainly got us hyped, but we’ve had to wait a little longer for more.

Amazon Prime Video has released the first trailer for the series. It gives us a good look at what to expect from the expectations Mark feels to the group of superheroes he joins.

Invincible synopsis

The synopsis from Amazon gives us just a hint of things to expect. Of course, if you’ve read the comic series, you have more of an idea of what will happen. One thing about animated shows like this is that we also assume people haven’t read the comics so try to remain spoiler-free unless we make it clear we’re delving into the spoilers.

Here’s the synopsis for the first season.

"INVINCIBLE is an Amazon Original series based on the groundbreaking comic book from Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead. The story revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who’s just like every other guy his age — except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons)."
