HBO Max is now available on Amazon Fire TV devices

All Amazon Fire TV device users can get the HBO Max app right now

When HBO Max first launched, it wasn’t available through Amazon Fire TV devices. We wondered if things would ever change.

Now there is some excellent news. The HBO Max app is now available through all Amazon Fire TV devices right now.

Whether you already have the app elsewhere or you still need to sign up for it, you’ll be able to download the app onto your Amazon Fire TV. From there, you can sign up with your exiting credentials or create a new account.

HBO Max content is also supported via the Fire tablet. Any sort of Fire device will finally get the app.

Can you watch HBO Max through Amazon Channels

The only thing that hasn’t happened yet is HBO Max being added to Amazon Channels. You can still get HBO, but you can’t get the full access.

There is a slight workaround, though. As of today, you’ll be able to download the HBO Max app and log in with your Amazon credentials if you already subscribe to HBO through Amazon Channels. There’s no need for separate log-in information, but you will need to go through the HBO Max app instead of Amazon Prime Video.

It’s not 100% clear what this means for HBO on Amazon Channels. The channel could be disappearing from Prime Video, but at least you still have access if you already have it.

Those who already had the HBO app on their Fire TVs will see the app change. It will automatically transfer over to the Max app. The aim is to get everyone onto Max for no extra cost. It looks like the original streaming service is migrating completely, which was only a matter of time.
