Everything you need to know about Chernobyl coming to 4K next month

Chernobyl is one of those TV shows that you need to watch at least once. It’s the harrowing tale of the real event that happened in 1986.

You can already get the limited series on DVD and Blu-ray. That release happened back in 2019. However, Chernobyl is coming to 4K, improving the viewing experience ten-fold. And this is worth the watch in 4K for some of the graphics used throughout the series.

You can get Chernobyl on 4K from Dec. 1, 2020. It’s not yet available for pre-order, but you can keep checking the DVD and Blu-ray listings for when it is.

What is Chernobyl about?

As the name suggests, the show is focused on the Chernobyl crisis. A nuclear power plant explodes, leading to radioactive material spreading. Toxic chemicals are everywhere, people are evacuated from their homes, and lives hang in the balance.

But the explosion isn’t the only problem. The plant continues to leak radioactive chemicals through smoke and fumes, and it’s impossible to get anything in to put the fire inside out. Men have to choose to sacrifice themselves for the good of the world.

As all that happens, a group of scientists and politicians have a bigger question to answer. How did this happen?

Of course, everyone wants to avoid blame. They refuse to answer questions, which makes the situation all the more dire. Will anyone ever get to the bottom of it?

Jared Harris, Emily Watson, and Stellan Skarsgard are among the outstanding cast. Now it’s time to get a copy of the DVD specifically made for your 4K TV. You won’t regret it.
