Emma is one of the five good Amazon movies to watch this weekend

This weekend is quiet across the board. Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Channels are getting ready for the first of the month next weekend. That doesn’t mean there aren’t some Amazon movies to check out though.

We can look at a mixture of Prime Video and Amazon Channels for something to watch. Here are five good Amazon movies to check out from Oct. 24 to 25.

Emma

More from Movies on Amazon

We’ll start with the Amazon Channels offerings. The 2020 movie Emma dropped on HBO yesterday, making it one of the newest additions to this list. The movie was initially released at the start of the pandemic and then immediately went to VOD to rent to make up for the theater closures. Now it’s time to watch it on streaming.

Based on the 1815 novel by Jane Austen, the story follows Emma Woodhouse, who spends a lot of her time meddling in other people’s love lives. Is she willing to commit to a man of her own?

Bridget Jones’s Diary

For those who like a good old-fashioned rom-com, Bridget Jones’s Diary is on STARZ right now. It’s the first movie, introducing us to Bridget and her love for two men. Of course, that comes with plenty of awkwardness when it comes to all social interactions. Whether you’ve never seen it or you’ve watched it a million times, this weekend is a good time to watch it.

The Current War

How much do you know of the inventors of the past? The SHOWTIME offering for Amazon movies is The Current War, which takes us back to the time of Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse. They’re both the greatest inventors of their time, but instead of working together, they set out on a war to prove their inventions are better than the others’.

What the Constitution Means to Me

If you’re looking for something a little more topical, Amazon Prime Video has you covered. This one of the Amazon movies we suggested last week, but it still stands today with the Election getting closer. What the Constitution Means to Me is a look back at people of the past and how the constitution affected them, and what they did to change things.

Cyrano, My Love

The last offering on our list this week is another on Amazon Prime Video. Cyrano, My Love is set in 1897 Paris. When a playwright offers a new play to an investor, it shouldn’t be all too surprising. However, in this case it is. The playwright hasn’t written anything for so long that people don’t believe that he can do it.
