There was a little movement on the list of most read Amazon books of the week

As September gave way to October, there was some movement on the list of most read Amazon books last week. It’s time to break down the full list.

Anxious People by Fredrik Backman was the only new book to make it to the list, despite being on the list of most sold books for some time. It entered in 20th place, but there’s time for that to move up the list.

More from Amazon Books

After all, books that joined the list during the previous week moved up between Sept. 27 and Oct. 3. Total Power by Vince Flynn & Kyle Mills gained four places on the list to get into the Top 15, and The Evening and the Morning by Ken Follett gained 12 places to get into the Top 10. Follett’s novel was the most sold book during the previous week, so this gain isn’t that surprising.

Troubled Blood gained nine places, landing in the highest spot out of the three books from last week. The controversial Robert Galbraith book made it into sixth place. Will it move up again to take over the Top 5?

Right now, three Harry Potter books remain in the Top 5, with Goblet of Fire knocking The Sorcerer’s Stone down a spot. The top two spots remained steady, with Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer in the top spot and Dune by frank Herbert just behind it.

Ken Follett’s book was certainly the biggest mover on the list overall. When it comes to movement down, All the Devils Are Here by Louise Penny lost the most spots, dropping four places to 17th place on the list. However, Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens is a notable drop, losing three places to drop out of the Top 10.
