It’s a good week for new DVD and Blu-ray releases. There are 14 TV shows and movies heading to physical disc on Oct. 6.
There are a few notable mentions. Fans will be able to get their favorite shows on DVD with plenty of time to catch up before new seasons are available. Then there are some excellent movies for Halloween 2020.

When it comes to TV shows, there are three that stand out immediately. The Last Kingdom Season 4 is getting the DVD and Blu-ray treatment, which isn’t surprising considering the previous three seasons came to DVD. Season 5 has been confirmed, so this is the chance to catch up and create your theories of how Uhtred’s story will go next.
Nancy Drew Season 1 is heading to DVD. This would have been timed with the release of Season 2, but The CW held back on adding the show to its fall lineup. All fall shows have been pushed to January 2021 to allow plenty of time for filming.
Then there’s Star Trek: Picard. The first season of the CBS All Access series will head to DVD and Blu-ray this week, giving fans more than enough time to watch ahead of Season 2, which will hopefully come sometime in late 2021.
Top movies coming to DVD and Blu-ray
When it comes to the movies, there are two that stand out. The Secret Garden is getting its DVD release, shortly after its Digital release. The movie is about a young girl who is orphaned and goes to live with her uncle. She pushes the rules, learning that there’s something mysterious about the grounds.
Then there’s a movie perfect for the family. Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! is heading to DVD on Oct. 6. It’s a fun movie with killer pumpkins. Just check out the sneak peek we shared last week to see what’s to come in this fabulous addition to your Scooby collection.
