It’s a quiet weekend when it comes to new content on Amazon Prime Video. That doesn’t mean there’s nothing to watch. We’re picking out the best Amazon movies to watch this weekend.
We are certainly getting ready for the list of new arrivals on Tuesday, but is there anything to get us to that point. There are two Amazon Originals to check out, a selection of movies leaving Amazon Prime Video soon, and a couple of movies you’re going to want to purchase on Amazon Video.
Here are five good Amazon movies to watch from Aug. 29 to 30.
Get Duked
We’re starting with the new Amazon Original that’s dropped on the streamer this weekend. Get Duked is a British satirical comedy that focuses on four teenage boys who go out on the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Little do they know that they’re going to become prey for the Duke of Edinburgh and his wealthy friends.

Chemical Hearts
We’re looking back at last weekend’s releases for the next movie. Chemical Hearts is a beautiful movie if you’re looking for teen romance. Austin Abrams stars as Henry Page, a 17-year-old romantic who has never been in love. When Lili Reinhart’s Grace Town moves to the school, he doesn’t think too much of her until he gets to know her better.
Twilight Saga movies
The Twilight movies are leaving Amazon Prime Video. They’re staying in the Amazon family, moving to IMDb TV in September, but this is your last chance to watch them with your Prime membership. You’ve got five Amazon movies to get through this weekend, and it’s perfect timing with the release of Midnight Sun.
Bill and Ted movies
Okay, so these Amazon movies will need to be purchased through Amazon Video. The first movie, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure is available to stream on STARZ with Amazon Channels, but the second movie isn’t available on any streaming service. The third movie is available to rent on VOD today. If you’re looking for great comedy, these are the movies for you.
The Hate U Give
Last but definitely not least is The Hate U Give, which is currently available to watch on HBO with Amazon Channels. The movie is leaving HBO on Sept. 7, so there isn’t long to watch it. This weekend is the perfect timing, especially with the continued Black Lives Matter protests that continue.
The movie is based on the book of the same name by Angie Thomas. It focuses on Starr Carter who has to fight for what’s right after witnessing the shooting of her best friend by the police.
