The biggest questions that need answering after the Lovecraft Country premiere

Lovecraft Country didn’t skimp out on the horror, and it wasn’t all about the fictional horror. Tic, George, and Letitia found themselves in danger because of racists in a segregated America.

The episode certainly left us with plenty of questions. After watching the premiere a few times to really look out for any clues of how things will go, it’s time to breakdown the top questions from the Lovecraft Country premiere.

Here are my five biggest questions that the show better answer.

What happened to Atticus’s mother?

Let’s note that The Good Fight‘s Erica Tazel was the one shown in the picture as Tic’s mom. There’s some sort of backstory here, likely linked to this big mansion and the things that go bump in the night.

Are we really going with the idea that she’s dead? Horror has a bad habit of killing moms and then making dads disappear. Hopefully, Lovecraft Country does something different. Is Tic’s mom at the house or has she become one of the monsters?

Why didn’t Letitia go to her mother’s funeral?

Another mom has played a big role without being seen. Letitia’s sister and then later her brother comment on their mom. Letitia wasn’t at the funeral, and it’s clearly a big problem for the family.

Why didn’t Letitia go to the funeral? There has to be a backstory here. People don’t not turn up to funerals just because they don’t feel like it. There’s either a backstory between Letitia and her mom or Letitia and her mom’s death.

How many more monsters are out there?

We’ve got to see some of the monsters of the world. This certainly isn’t going to be it. All we have to do is remember that the car with the racists didn’t back into anything when it flipped. There was a gap between the flipping car and the silver car. So, there’s something supernatural there.

Now that Tic, George, and Letitia are at the house, will they see more monsters? What does this mean for the whole group?

And can we question what will happen when the sheriff and his guys are reported missing? Are Black people going to be blamed? Is this going to link back to Tic and his group in any way?

Who was the white man Tic’s dad went off with?

At the start of the episode, the guy at the bar said Tic’s dad went off with some white man. That was the last anyone saw of Montrose.

Let’s skip over the question of what happened to Tic’s dad. That will eventually be answered on Lovecraft Country. The big question is who the white man was. Is it the same guy who answered the door at the mansion?

Welcome home?

The white guy that answered the door looked like he expected to see Tic, George, and Letitia. Well, he expected to see Tic at the very least. He immediately said “welcome home.”

How is this Tic’s home? Did it belong to his mom? What are the secrets inside this mansion?
